Expressive Type
A Type Journal
Letterforms left to chance: paint, collage and assemblage pushing type beyond the screen.
Artwork, photography, typography, assemblage, collage, graphic design
This project explores material sensibility and an appreciation for analogue processes in a field shaped mostly by digital experiences. It leans into materials that produce unpredictable results, shedding preconceived ideas of what design “should” look like and responding to the physical marks made along the way.
Paint, assemblage, photography and collage became ways to understand how typography can carry meaning beyond words and images, through the integration of expressive, handmade work.
